Houston Engagement Photographers: Session Advice

Houston Engagement Photographers:

Location and Time

As experienced Houston Engagement Photographers, we have the knowledge that can help you plan the perfect engagement session. There are two things to consider when planning the engagement session. The first one is the location. Do you like the look of an urban area or are you more of a country feel type person?  The second is the time of day. When should you schedule the session? For example, in the morning, afternoon or evening?  Figuring out the answer to these two questions will help you to create the engagement photo that suits your personality and needs!

Location, Location, Location

The location is key to achieving those personalized engagement pictures that everyone will want to see.  Let your Houston engagement photographers assist you in making this decision. Since Houston is a major city, the urban locations can very popular engagement photo areas. However, within the urban setting there are many different type of places to chose from.  Here are a few examples:

  • The Water Wall
    • Located by the Galleria provides and urban feel in combination with the effects of a man made water fall
  • Down Town
    • Always a favorite with the glass from the tall buildings along with the brick train tracks
  • Houston Skyline
    • There are many different locations that creates an amazing back drop utilizing the Houston Skyline

We are in Texas after all so as you can image the rural feel is always in demand, for example:

  • Herman Park
    • A popular location within the city that provides an out door feel with beautiful green trees with blue sky
  • Brazos Bend State Park
    • The park offers a real country feel on the outside of the city, with a lake that has many walking paths along with fantastic trees with hanging moss.

Time of Day

With the either urban or rural location the time of day is an important part of the session.  It is recommended to schedule the engagement session for late afternoon or sunset.  The sunset provides amazing back grounds with the clouds, along with the many different colors of blue, red and orange.  Since the sun is setting it will be low is the sky typically to your back which helps to avoid squinting eyes from the bright sun.

No matter what type of location and time that you chose, always ask your Houston engagement photographer for their opinion and they can provide valuable additional insight.
